According to the temple records, in the period of sixth Hung Vuong, at Vu Linh Province, Sieu Loai District, Vinh The Commune, there was a family of General Lac, belonging to Hung Vuong lineage. The General got married to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu, a local resident of Huong Tich area. They both had great righteousness and generosity but just could not have a son to maintain the continuity of the family line. One day, Ms Lieu told her husband: “i get married to you as the arrangement of fate. Now i want to come back my home town in Huong Tich to pray for a son”. The General was in a big surprise. He told their servants accompanied her to Huong Tich. In her vacation at Yen Vy Village, she went for a walk to Ngu Nhac Mountain. The god of mountain told her that the fairy descended on earth must back to the heaven in the coming days. The king of heaven sent Hoang Tho Tinh to reincarnate that he could help the king save the nation, requiting the love on earth. Ms Lieu thanked the God and local residents in Yen Vy village. She then came back to her family and reported the story to her husband. The General knew that the king of heaven wants to send a god to become his son. But he was sad because he and his wife would no longer stay together. The confusion made him could not say a word. Time passed by, Ms Lieu was pregnant for 14 months. One day, the house was filled with sweet smell and brilliant light, she gave birth to a son who had a square face, a wide forehead and very long arms. The appearance was very august. The Hung Congs and their family were very happy. 100 days passed, he invited an old man in the area came to give the name to his son as “Hung Lang”. Hung Cong asked his servants to prepare sacrifices and turned back to Ngu Nhac Mountain to thank heaven and earth. In the time spending there, he still remembered what his wife had said: “when you suddenly feel a sense of sorrow, it means I’ve just gone”. Then the servants informed him that Ms Lieu has come back to the heaven and sent him a letter:

“This letter was sent to earth

My husband, when you read it, you will realize

That the God of mountain was delegated to the earth

Then he could help the king save the country and people”.

After reading the letter, Hung Cong was in the mood of deep blue. He managed her burial event and told his servants “My wife and my son both have predestined affinity at Huong Tich, a place having the vestige of Buddha, the landscape is as beautiful as heaven, so i decide to stay here to bring up my son, requiting a match ordained by heaven. Time passed by, when Hung Lang was at the age of 13, his father passed away. In the sorrow, he along with the oldest man in the area saw his father came to heaven. At the age of 18, Hung Lang was good at martial arts. He owned a strange supremacy that everyone must respect. One day, Hung Lang came to visit Ngu Nhac Mountain.
